Re: My BP & Cage Setup
One more heating question: Should I replace my heat lamp with a ceramic heater on the hot side of the tank in addition to an UTH under the hot side to get the temperature around 90-92 degrees? Then for the cool side should I place a 2nd UTH to regulate the cool side to around 80-82 degrees? I was planning on just purchasing human heating pads for the UTH. Any more input would be apprecaited! thanks again

Re: My BP & Cage Setup
What I ended up doing was since I have a low wattage CHE I pulled it back from the cage a bit and it keeps my cool side right at 82 or so, then I have the UTH under the warm side on a dimmer so it doesn't get too hot. And personally I wouldn't use a heating pad (it seems a bit risky)...you can get an actual UTH at just about any pet store, and it tells on the package what size you would need for your tank ^_^

Re: My BP & Cage Setup
Is your low wattage CHE located over the hot side of the tank, or like the middle of the tank? Also do I purchase the dimmer in addition to the UTH? I am just trying to figure out the exact placement of where to locate the CHE, UTH, and the water bowl? THanks

Re: My BP & Cage Setup
Ah sorry the CHE is over the cool side. And yes the dimmer is seperate from the UTH, although many people on here use thermostats (which are probablly better, but I have to wait till I go home to get on, so I use a Rheostat)
So all together I have the 65 watt CHE over the cool side, the water bowl kinda in the middle, (closer to the warm side to help with my humidity), the UTH on the warm side, and it's hooked to the Rheostat. The temps stay pretty well, but I'm having so problems with humidity. I covered part of the top of the tank this weekend and it seems to be working better, but its still not quite right. =/
