It really depends on how much the snake is growing. I've had my BP for going on 5 months and he has shed twice for me. You can't force a snake to go into shed.

Also: the eyes will fog up then clear up before it actually sheds.

I would move the setup into a smaller room (like a bedroom or spare room) and just heat the room around the tank. I hate heatlamps and the dryness they cause.. heating the air in the room to a constant 76-ish degrees, and providing a hot-spot (via undertank heater on a rheostat) of 90 degrees is needed.

It is possible to get the right temperature in the tank with out changing the temps on your room. I also keep my room around 70 degrees and have a similar 30 gallon tank. I got a 150W CHE and an UTH for the hot side and 100W CHE for the cold side all of the devices have their separate dimmers. I also bought an automatic water mister by zoomed to help with the humidity it works great……nice background for the tank I wish I could find one like that.

I suggest you guys go to walmart and pick up an accurite digital therm/hygro. It will record the hot/cool sides and give you the real humidity reading. I would loose the dial hygrometer, pretty inaccurate. :2cent:
