Re: Piebald Breeding Project
Larry, If you have been around this hobby long enought you would know that alot of the bigger breeders that you hold in high esteem are constantly looking for snakes to resell and they do trade deals to bring in snakes they need but dont produce themselves. so dont be so fast to criticise for something you know so little about. :)

Re: Piebald Breeding Project
As much as I detest flippers (who mostly care more about the buck than the animals), if someone is going to do that, at least be honest. Saying you produced animals that you are flipping for someone else is pretty low.

Re: Piebald Breeding Project
I agree with that Jamie, if you are selling something you picked up in a trade just say so. it really does not matter much as long as its a healthy snake! :)

Now who's being rude? :colbert:
I'm not sure which breeders you think I hold in high esteem, but perhaps you can shed some light on which ones are flipping snakes? I just find it hard to believe that many big breeders are looking for other snakes that they can flip instead of selling their own. The only "big" breeder I'm aware that did that was MKR, and I wouldn't consider them anywhere close to being a big breeder.
So besides MKR, are you saying VPI, NERD, RDR, or BHB flip snakes? Remarkable.
As far as trade deals, I'm not sure what that has to do with flipping snakes. I'm not sure why anyone would have a problem with trading or even selling a snake they didn't produce as long as they were clear on its origin.

Re: Piebald Breeding Project
Larry not trying to be rude to you, just want you to have a better understanding of whats going on behind the scenes and the word flipper is derogatory and demeaning to alot of people. the big breeder list you presented...I have did trade deals with 2 on your list. I had something they wanted and they had something I wanted. dont see any problems with that as we both were satisfied with the trades. I can add about 3 more big breeders that have bought my surplus snakes or traded me something of theirs to get my babies they needed. once again no problems and a good deal. you have been posting on my for sale ads and when I post pictures trying to discredit me and trying to make me look less than an honest person, you could not be more wrong! so if you think that a big breeder wont buy something he needs from another breeder you are very wrong. :)

I think Larry is trying to say that if you sell these snakes that were produced from someone other than yourself, just say so....don't try to make it sound like you produced them. I don't think anyone has a problem with "flipping" or selling someone else's snakes, but they have a problem with you taking credit for producing them when that is not the case.

Ed, would you be so kind as to point to the threads that I tried to discredit you or tried to make you look like a dishonest person? That's a pretty big accusation, and I sincerely hope you can back it up. The only thread that I was able to find in which I left a comment was one where you were selling a Black Pastel and I actually complemented you on it.
Anyway, you stated that big breeders were flipping snakes... or reselling them if you prefer, as a standard business practice. I fully understand that many of them will do trades which I consider completely different even if they sell some of the snakes they traded for. Trades happen all the time, and I would think all the breeders would love to trade their animals for others. I know I have and will continue to do trades.
However, I was talking specifically of flipping, or purchasing snakes at wholesale prices with the sole intent of reselling them right away... and more specifically, the practice of some flippers to pass these wholesale snakes off as ones that they produced. Do you mean to tell me that some of the large breeders I mentioned have done this?

Hmmmm
I think somewhere we've slipped off the edge. I don't believe there was a point or accusation that flipping was actually occuring in this instance. Rather just pointing out that that's part of the hobby and that he feels strongly against it.
If I had some extra cash, I'd jump this boat in a NY minute, but my extra doesn't run to those numbers, and I don't have any sort of breeding program established YET that would interest someone.
Good luck in getting a response!

Re: Piebald Breeding Project
A mod should go through and get rid of the unneccessary content in this thread....it's a disgrace to these awesome pied's that i wish i could afford but can't at this time, but one day i'll have one.
not trying to be rude but i've been looking at alot of threads in this section and the majority seem to wonder off track quickly....IMO not the way it should be unless the seller takes it that way.
just my 2 cents not trying to insult or piss anyone off
