Re: Feisty but you love them?
When it comes to attitude, my Ginger girl takes the cake. She's now 2560 grams of head-tossin' mama; seems like ever since we bred her to the pastel, she's a little cobra. As soon as you open her tub, she snakes her head right out with no fear, and will grab on/constrict (I found this out a few months ago when she thought my hand was a rat..) To get her out, I have to give her a few squirts with the water bottle; she will then recoil and go into more of a defensive/wary mode, instead of a feeding/hand-constricting one.. but I refuse to let her get the best of me and will not use gloves or anything else with her; she is also my snake with the best appetite, oddly. She has taught me the most regarding handling, wariness, and attention-paying.

Re: Feisty but you love them?
I think our funniest story recently was big Orlah. Now Orlah is the most calm, easiest natured BP I've ever seen. The goofy thing actually doesn't mind if you pat her like a dog and will haul herself over to plop on children for some odd reason (she was also an adult surrendered pet but I think she was well loved and around a lot of people). Orlah is in other words, a total sweetheart.
Mikes goes to open her tub the other day, just to change her water and check for cleanliness. He's sort of squatting down as she's in a lower down position. I'm busy when I hear Mike sort of stumble back quick and say a word that I can't repeat here. Seems Miss Never Had a Bad Day just tried to eat his face off LOL. The look on my husband's face was priceless! I was so shocked that I had to double-check the cage card to make sure it was actually Orlah who did that.
Of course later she was back to her usual happy snake self but it's a good lesson that even the nicest snake has her moments. :)

that is what happened to me with matilda! she has never ever made any aggressive moves at all and suddenly she was launching at my face! she is sooo calm--one time she was lounging on my shoulders and i was stroking her. i felt something raised up on her and kind of scraped over it with my fingernail and grabbed her there to pull her around so i could see what it was. it was her EYE. she had moved her head around to where i was stroking her and i didn't realize it. not that she cared!
just goes to show you gotta have respect! :)

my lil girl Nyla is the sweetest tempered snake I've owned... until she catches scent of the mouse. From that moment on, don't watch from too close a distance or she not only won't eat the mouse. She'll try to get you.
:taz:
This picture was taken after she had constricted the mouse and found it to be dead. Was about to start eating and then realized I was still 6ft away.

Pandora is my girl that I trust with people, very easy going, laid back snake - but come feeding day - she's giving you the evil eye and zoning in on your heat signature. There is NO way that I would even go into her enclosure on feeding day.
Feeding day is slightly raising the lid, nudging said prey into the enclosure with a word of encouragement - "good luck to you, mouse/rat"! :P
