Well not true that she'll "eat when she's ready", not completely. If her enclosure is off temp, if she's not well, if she's stressed....she won't "be ready". If you are getting a string of refusals look first to your husbandry, enclosure, temps/humidity, that sort of thing and then to the snake and recent events. If everything is bang on, she's healthy and of good weight for length and nothing recently stressed her, then I wouldn't worry overly but it does sound like there may be some issues with her enclosure temps, that can lead to stress, illness, refusals, etc.

Most BP if provided with proper husbandry and not breeding will eat. Now if your BP go off feed just don't say "she will eat when she is ready" adress the issues and I bet she will resume feeding.

Going off feed is either related to husbandry, illness, overfeeding, or breeding, in your case it is obviously related to the husbandry.

Just get a digital thermometer, boost your temps and humidity and I am sure you will see an improvement.

WELL, Its been another month and nothing yet. She still looks at me like I'm crazy!

I have no idea what to do and I think I'm going to take her to the vet by the end of the month if nothing changes, and she what she says!

Its been longer then a month for my older female and i know why she isnt eating my basemenet temps are too low. Im sure your cool side isnt 84 and your hot side 94. I just got another thermostat and flexwatt for my cool sides to get my temps perfect.

When do you all think she would start to be loosing weight?
I looking at her right now and she does seem much skinner?!?!?

Someone told me to try a different food, like maybe a mouse? But I feel that if she is hungry enough she would eat the rats, so nevermind something different? am I right?

I dont have a scale to weight her but she does seem a little smaller? maybe I'm just paranoid! but she is defenetly thinner!

BPs are imprint feeders, so if she won't take her normal food, she most likely won't take a mouse.

Did you adjust your temps and get a digital thermometer? It seemed like you were beating around the bush to do it a few pages back. ;)

No they aren't. I had said they are 85hot 75cool.
I am about to invest in a digital temp/humd reader from Big Apple Herps, but I probably wont get that for another few weeks depending on delivery time.

I just checked the temps again with my analog reader things and they do look a little lower then they were last time I checked.
PLUS my mother has been running the dehumidifier lately because she says it makes it warmer in the house for her, but it also makes it dryer for my snakes. Humidity was at 35 in the warm end.

Would a higher watt bulb make it warmer eh?? I would think so! I might try that!

Yeah I'm still beating the bush at the moment. That should change soon!
I will try a higher watt bulb if I can find one around right now.

Well it has been another month, but it seems that you still have not work on the issues that were pointed out, so how do you expect your BP will resume feeding?

Your temps are not good and you still don't have a digital thermometer for an accurate reading, and do not expect one before a few more weeks.

How about investing in an Acu-Rite from Walmart (if you don't have Walmart check your local hardware stores for the same type of device) it look like this http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...s/Acu-Rite.gif it will cost you about 12$ and you could get it sooner so you would be able to finally know your temps and and humidity and start working on your husbandry so your BP might resume feeding.

You need to focus on the husbandry right now not changing prey, BP are imprint feeders so changing prey will not likely help.
