In short if the ground temps are right then the ambianet air temps are not a worry.

But if the top is open like a screen top then yea the air is a worry.

I'd say yes. Just make sure that you are measuring accurately. Where are you measuring the temps? A temp gun is really handy although it only measures surface temperature. Ambient air temp should be fine with heat lamps.

i'm a bit of a n00b with snakes, so keep in mind i'm not trying to downtalk anyone...but in Africa...are snakes only ok when it is 83-84 degrees? like are they freaking out when it's 85-86. It just seems to me like they live in the wild but are babied so much in captivity (not to say that i don't...i have 2 thermostats controlling 2 different UTHs lol) but it's just something me and my mother have been curious about...how much does like 3-5 degrees ACTUALLY matter? i understand that like 20-30% humidity is a bit harsh on the snake but i don't see how they will tell the difference so much in a few degrees?

Well if your talking a bout 2-3 degrees none temps very due to opening the viv ir tub ambient air temps I mean the care sheets state the 90-95 hot and 80-85 on the cool so see even there your given 5 degrees to play with. But a keepers ability to maintain these temps is the biggest factor. I mean lets get real to breed we cool females down to like 70-75 degrees for a month or better. The ability to give the animal the ability to properly thermo regulate that is most important thing. Yes in the wild they don't get this but the mortality rate in wild balls is also 500x's higher than in captivity. Its our job as keepers to offer them a better life than they would get in the wild.

So in short will two to three degrees make a difference no.
