The bit about feeding in a separate tank is a myth?? Really??! I swear I have heard that EVERYWHERE.

well I can assure you that it's a just myth. I feed all of my snakes in their tubs with out any problems with them trying to bite me when I get them out to handle them. I know a lot of people here can back me up on this also. :)

If all you ever do is open the tank to feed then yea the animal might associate that with feeding and strike out of a feeding response. However hopefully your handling your snake with in reason and whats healthy for it. Feeding in the living tank is fine I do it with all of mine and have never had a problem.

Yes, I handle Gabe and he's perfectly friendly. Ok, I'll do it in the same tank. So do you guys think my returning him to the tank caused the regurg? BTW, I do plan to take him to the vet in the near future...

No.Regurg can be caused by loads of stuff: to large a food item, stress, environmental issues i.e temps and so on, internal parasites. Best bet is a vet trip and take a poop sample, have the vet run a fecal test to check for internal parasites.

Re: Regurg
Poop sample... That would be the other problem. Still waiting for that majestic event to happen.
