i would build a wooden cage with a clear front and a light looks. install a radiant heat panel hooked up to a good thermostat and you're set!, imo

    That's what I did:

3/4 inch plywood and 1/4 plexi (I NEVER touch these doors other than the tops of them and they still are scratched...)
Complete with radiant heat panel and black light. (yes there are hides in there, and yes, she does use her driftwood :) )

Someome else gave me a great idea though. I may try it. A cabinet cage with reptile carpeting. I'd just like something nice to look at and larger and different then a tank, and something I can have fun with and like as much as he will.

Like another poster stated, plexi really does scratch really easy. You will scratch it trying to clean it. The other thing is, it will 'yellow' if exposed to UV light quickly. (I sell this stuff for a living for greenhouses.) The poly carb will take the UV and not dis-color for a min of 10 years+++, if you get the good stuff and not the cheap stuff Home Depot sells. When it comes to durability, glass is still the best choice.

Please don't take me the wronge way, I just see a lot of folks waste money because they think they can save a buck. I deal with it every day.

As for wooden cages, just be sure to get a sealer on the wood so it does not soak up water and grow mold. I have seen some really nice wood cages out there.
