She Wont Eat :(

I'm new too, but just wanted to chip in and ditto the "don't worry yet." Ours skipped his second meal, and then ate at the next one. Who knows why. I would have expected his first meal to be more stressful, since he'd only been in his set-up for about five days and we'd been struggling with temps and humidity. But noooooo... it was the second one with no apparent reason.

It kinda stressed me out too, but he ate at the next feeding, so no worries now. I don't think you're supposed to start to really, really worry until it's been three or four feedings. Though of course you're right to check and make sure all your husbandry issues are right--temps, humidity, hides, etc.

Bless your heart! She'll probably be just fine next week. You would have been a nervous wreck with my first ball python, who fasted for 8 months! Got him into a tub set-up and he only skips a week every now and then now. One missed feeding, as others have already said, is no big deal in the life of a ball python! :D

Haha well thank you guys. I bought her a new lamp to make her a little warmer. i think it was just a little too cold in her tank. that might have been part of the problem. the guy at the reptile store said to try it and try feeding her again in a week. I just got home from taking the rat that i bought last night back to the pet store. they had no problem taking it back but they wouldnt give me a refund which kinda sucks but oh well. its better than having it run around my apartment haha
