I think you missed the point of frankykeno's reply...a small rat is too big for a six month old ball...small rats are appropriate for an adult though...

I agree with bumping up your prey size... if you think she is growing now, just wait until you are feeding her larger meals. I started my first post-shed hatchlings on rat pinks, and within a few weeks they were ready for older rats. Keep a close eye on when your baby is capable of bumping up a size and she'll grow nice and fat for you. :)

Congrats on the new guy! Adam does a fine job with his snakes. My little het hypo girl is 850 g now (she was a July 06 baby). Good luck!
