I really hope to buy into a suger in a few years!! I think a fire sugar would look so sweet. Or a sugar spider!

But won't they be sugar-free bubblegums?

Yeah, Sugars are fairly new to me too... certainly there are similarities between the calico and the sugar morphs... different alleles of the same trait? Can't wait for a 'super', but I'd be content to see some crosses!

Dan and Collete also have Sugars in their collection. If I'm not mistaken, they have one for sale at the moment. They also have a pic of a Pastel Sugar somewhere on the website. They are the bomb. The crosses will be great.

I have a friend working on a Calico Cinamon cross. He wants to see if he can produce a super cinny calico. Picture a black snake with a white calico sides. The books I have read claim the calico and sugar are the same morph, Kevin McCurley's book says dominant (possibly co-dominant).

I got my little low white calico a couple of months ago. There are a very limited number of breeders working with them right now. We're hoping that the super will be prodcued this year (there are a few working ot it as we speak) and hoping it will not be a completely white snake. :)

Michael Cole has a bubblegum for sale on his website - it is a calico pastel and it is awesome looking.

Now I have to spend the next year growing up my boy so I can pair him with some neat females next year. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Ralph Davis coined the name "bubblegum" for an imported calico cross in 2004 ... the animal was not a calico pastel and was believed to be a calico yellowbelly.

It's one of the coolest animals I've ever seen and deserves the name bubblegum in my humble opinion. ;) :D
