That's not to say that feeding him live in a dim room couldn't work--but leaving him alone for an hour I don't think is a good plan.

I would agree with you about leaving a live mouse alone with my snake. After reading a lot on this forum from other (more experienced than me) snake owners. I got that from a breeders web site. He also wants to get personally involved if he sells you a snake and it doesn't eat after the second try feeding.

I got lucky when I bought my snake. She ate the day after I brought her home. It was a 3 hour drive at least and not a Fed-Ex flight. She has gone from live to F/K with no problem as well.

But my snake isn't in question.

Is the snake in Shed, I have heard that it's not uncommon for them to go off feed during a shed. I would think that between that and the added stress of a move it wouldn't be unlikely for it to not feed for three weeks or so. Also did you go to the vet and travel with it in between attempting to feed? That could add more stress IMO.

as far as i know hes not in shed, and yes i took him to the vet 2 days after bringing him home, and other than being a little bit dehydrated he was healthy. i havent gotten him on a scale yet, and the vet never did either, but hes at 23 inches, +/- a few millimeters. hes in a relitivly quiet area, and seems to be getting a little less timid, so other than the not eating part he seems to be doing fine right now. i called the pet store and was told he was eating hoppers, and thats what ive been offering, so maybe hes still just getting settled.
