Are you confused about what UVA and UVB do in a reptile's environment? UVA is visible to lizards and turtles/tortoises and is needed in order for them to perceive their environment. UVB helps lizards and turtles synthesize Vitamin D3, just as we synthesize it when we are exposed to UV light (from the sun). D3 is needed to help with the absoption of calcium and so forth.Quote:
