I dunno... maybe she was just bigger than most.. or they cheated you... I dont know how to find out if she does have a hidden secret but one way is to breed her... atleast once...cause...BP are like a box of chocolate...they captivate us, they are always a treat to have around, YA GOTTA LOVE UM. annnnddddd you can't have just one...

i'm curious. why would you need the girl at the petstore to show you how to pick up your snake if you've been around them your whole life? sounds like you have lots of experience :carrot:

And than you stated she is VERY active during the day. Than said she sleeps all day.

Just very contradicting, plus you shouldn't handle her to "get an early start" as you say it will just cause the snake more stress and even further the process of her feeling secure.

I hope your being honest when you say you know a lot about snakes, cause from what you've stated it doesn't seem like you personally do.

And there are a lot of well educated people here who can help you.

I havnt been around a snake for a good 5 years.

1. Its a matter of opinion if you dont want to pick up your snakes when they come home you dont have to.

2. he sleeps all day untill i pick him up and then put him back he will go back to sleep.

3. The snakes ive been around were not mine they were my parents. I didnt get to handle the bermese pythons i handled garter snakes king snakes.

4. I was afraid of him biting me as ive never been bitten so the person at the petstore told me to be gentle but firm. Its a snake ive never seen "stranger" I dont know the temperment.

5. He was fed yesterday and he took to the mouse perfectly fine thank you no problems at all with him.

6. Yes ive been around snakes sence very young this doesnt mean that i know everything about them i was only a little kid you cant expect me to remember everything about them.

I'm sorry if i contradicted myself but it was not my intention and im sure it wasnt your intention to sound rude either.

actually it's not a matter of opinion, it's a matter of fact. snakes need to feel safe and secure. in order to provide that... it's important to allow our snakes to have uninterrupted time alone in their enclosure when they have any major change (even changing from one enclosure to another within the same home).

feeding issues often present themselves later on when this one week alone time is not provided.

the members here care deeply about their snakes and are here not only to learn but also to share their knowledge with newcomers. i hope you find the information you need here.
