Re: new to breeding
greetings,
i see you've been a member here for awhile now so i bet you know how this forum works. first off, it's family friendly so please be sure to watch what you say in your posts.
second, anyone reading any posts here know that the members here believe very strongly that two snakes should not be housed together, except for breeding purposes and that quarantine is extremely important.
now... obviously, you have decided to breed right away without the concern of over stressing your snakes (although i'm not quite sure why you male snake was in the bag with the female you picked up???).
please understand that a UTH is vital for a healthy ball python and wetting the bedding is not ever a good idea. belly rot is a common problem which will occur if you continue.
i hope you are in fact here to learn, share and enjoy as the rest of us are.
in light,
aleesha

Re: new to breeding
LOL people are replying the way they did because you typed out a pretty lengthy paragraph without a single period. It really hurts our heads to read it. You may not be a native english speaker, but either way learn how to use proper grammar when posting on an english forum or you'll continue to get replies like in this post.

Re: new to breeding
or a few paragraph breaks. being fluent in english is not a prerequisite for membership on this forum.
i see you are aware about housing snakes together.

Re: new to breeding
LOL...wow!!! I don't claim to be an expert, I just got purchased my first BP close to 8 months ago, and since then have been doing all the reading I possibly can. In fact, I spend way to much time on this forum (although I rarely feel like I have the knowledge to reply to most posts).
I do suggest you continue to do the same thing. The world is not going to run out of BP's if your particular snakes do not breed, and i'm just going with my gut here, but I don't think it is a very smart idea for you. There are so many problems that can occur without the proper knowledge of what your doing.
If you want my opinion...continue to raise the snakes you currently have, fix their conditions, maybe even get a few more, and when you feel like you couldn't possibly know anymore about raising and breeding reptiles maybe you could give it a shot. Other than that, i'm glad you have decided to join the wonderful world of reptiles and I wish you the very best of luck.

and i have 2 hides and no00 a 4 foot snake will not fit in them at all an the hides i found big enough woulnt fit in a 100gal tank let alone a 60 gal tank so anyway say what u must but im doing what i can and as for the spraying or weting the bedding its just to get the humidity right so give me something about that whit out spraying or weting some of the bedding the humidity is to low.............
the female is the only one that will fit in the hide so what ever :carrot:  :taz:

Re: new to breeding
and as for the snakes being in the same bag. i took both male snakes to the trade center and gave one and 20$ for the female. an didnt have another bag or box to put her in so she had to go in the same bag....... when in got home to take them out they where locked. so i picked them both up and put them in the tank. an let them be as they where so what can i say im not going to disengage them just to put them in a different tank or what ever............................................................................ ................................................................................ ..............................................

Re: new to breeding
So, you came on here asking for advice, then you get mad when people post constructive criticisim. So, since you have breeding questions, why don't you just pick the brain of your breeder friend who you got the female from. I would think he'd want to help you be successful in your breeding plans and would be happy to answer all your questions, especially since he's a friend of yours! :)
