Thanks! I appreciate the well wishes/realism. lol. His mom has some pretty high up friends in the NG, so he already has a great deal with them, i'm hoping that if something else goes wrong it wont be tooo bad.

Heh...it's not just the enlisted lives that get screwed around...trust me. :rolleyes: Anything run by the government is gonna be messed up...it's just a fact of life.

Good luck with that separation, Amy. Seems like you're zeroing in on the key to success in a military life, which is to always find the positive side of any situation and stay focused on that. ;)

I hear ya Judy. Never wanted to be a military wife but by the time this choice happened I was a bit attatched. Now that I am a military wife I can't WAIT until it can be over, half tempting me to go build a wood hut in the middle of nowhere so they can't find us ever again lol.

My advice is to thank your lucky stars (or your God; whichever is most appropriate) that he is serving here (stateside) and safe. There are many other locations where he could be deployed for much longer and in much more hazardous conditions.
I salute your fiance for his service to our great country :salute: , and the sacrifices that you and he are making.

Perfect example of something positive to fix on James. I feel very lucky that my husband is stationed on a ship instead of being one of the sailors involved in the individual augmentation program and sent to Iraq or Afganastan(sp) or someplace equally as explosive.
However I always keep the families of the soldiers overseas in my thoughts and hope for a safe return for all.

Thank you. i really appreciate that, and i know he does as well.
I am very glad that he is safe. He still has 6 more years to go, so that could change, but i will cross that bridge when/if it comes. No use worrying about it now.
And yes, being an army wife is a hard job. when i went to the PX with chris i saw a ton of bumber stickers that said, "The hardest job in the army is being the wife" or something along those lines.
The distance, and the time apart only brings us closer when he returns, so i try to think that him being away is for the good.
