Robin...I'm not going anywhere...at least not for a year. AF regs say they can't move us more than once per year. :rolleyes:

It's just been such a long, drawn out move this time. Ick. And we were trying to replace the entire downstairs floor before the furniture arrived...tile everywhere except for carpet in the family room. Well....the day the moving truck arrived to deliver our stuff...all the tile had been laid but NONE of it had been grouted yet. And the garage was full of all the old carpet and vinyl that had been ripped up so no room in there to put our stuff. And the tile guy was hours late that morning to start grouting. It was a nightmare trying to juggle it all. Eventually though, the grout got finished and the movers were able to bring the downstairs furniture in. But because the family room still hadn't been carpeted, everything ended up in what will be our office eventually...so except for the kitchen and dining room table....the rest of the downstairs has not been "moved into" yet.

New carpet for that one room finally got installed yesterday. So this weekend, Dean and I will begin the daunting task of moving all the furniture from one side of the house to the other and finally start getting the downstairs boxes unpacked. Then we need to buy new computer desks and get the office set up. Can't wait to get my desktop back!!

And the previous tenants left the house somewhat banged up. Not "abused" so much as somewhat "neglected"....so we've got a handyman in and out of here doing lots of touch up work...replacing doors...painting, etc.

We're far from settled in yet and its driving me nuts. But this too, shall pass. And the new tile floors are beautiful..the new carpet is very nice, too. Eventually we'll truly be all settled in and I'm praying fervently that we can actually stay for a couple or three years.

But now that I've got access to BP.net again....I really do feel "at home" and so happy to be back!!!

The move has had some snags and delayed my online access far more than I expected. Still a fair amount of work to do, and I'm limited to a laptop I must share with hubby for at least a few more days, and maybe longer. :rolleyes: But at least I have this much!
