Keep working with her, but don't over do it. Hopefully in time she will relax, but she may always be a bit grumpy .... hmmmm sounds like marriage counseling

I currently have five males and ten females. I wouldn't say that the females are any nippier. For the most part, all of mine are pretty laid back snakes. I've raised and am raising all of them from babies (with the exception of Casper who was a year old when I got him, and he's just downright naughty - Thanks Adam! - but not nippy - his favorite thing lately it to turn his water bowl over and turn his tub into a swimming pool).

As babies, some were a little more fearful of me as a predator and would strike in defense, but once a level of trust was built, slowly - none of them are really phased by handling now.

Would I try to go in their enclosures on feeding day though? I'd rather not! :D

Shes eating like a pig (she even ate a day after a three hour train journey) and just shed fine, shes active as well, so I dont think tis stress!

is this what your snake is housed in?

if she has no access to light, other than when you take her out, that could certainly cause her some stress. what are you using for heat at this time?

you'll notice the members here are very focused on proper husbandry for snakes... it's the main reason snakes (and their owners) have problems... so it's what we always ask first. once we know the set up, the temps, the humidity - how many hides you have, how big they are... etc then we can better assist you to 'not' have a stressed snake. there is a lot... and i mean a lot of knowledgeable people here... ready willing and able to assist you if you want to take them up on their free advice ;) (as further down the line, vet care from improper husbandry is not free). :sunny:

of course, if you aren't interested in that and just wanted to share that you have a cranky snake... that's cool too. :P
