No need for oils or any other formulas ... water works just fine.

Just keep soaking him and if it doesn't come off, it should during the next shed.

Before we figured out how to get the humidity up in his home we would give him a bath in an enclosed tub so he couldn't climb back out. We put a bottle brush in there with him and after he soaked for about 30 minuted he would start wrapping himself around the brush and the skin just came off of him. It works really great.

I greatly appreciate the help from everyone that offered real advice and I'm trying to appreciate the lame humor from those that did not. Thanks I will apply the suggestions that were offered (not the snalad). :spork:

My friend Steve at Reptile Depot recommended that I try fragrance free hand lotion on a snake I rescued with a retained eyecap. We had tried removing it by hand but it wouldn't budge. After a couple of days of lotion it came off by itself. Worked like a charm with no harm to the snake. I asked my vet about it and he said it was fine, it's all about rehydrating the area. I also use a hide with damp moss that they can rub around in. You want fragrance free because it has no chemicals. Olive oil and basalamic vinegar is my favorite dressing but not anything I use on snakes LOL~

The only time I've seen olive oil used for anything on snakes was for mite treatment. The oil is supposed to smother the mites. Then you wash off all of the oil afterward.
