    What I don't understand is why dom and co-dom males are still nearly always listed at lower prices...it seems like you can produce a lot more morph babies with a male than a female.

    Of course you can. You will need to breed the male pastel to a normal female, then raise up a female pastel from the clutch (if you get one) and breed your male pastel to the female pastel. People do that all the time with het males.
