It is not a rack. It is cages.

Each level is 2' deep by 3' wide. It turned out that each door is going to be made out of a 1x10(really is 9 1/4 inches tall) with a 5" by 28" window. I used 3/4 plywood for the whole thing. You could probably use thinner plywood in some places.

I kind of want todo somthing similar except for length I would do 4.5'Lx2.5'Wx1'H since I want to start working with some what larger snakes (not huge.)
Great idea and it looks GREAT! :sweeet:

How are you planning to make the doors? i have made pretty much the exact setup, acouple times now. But i went with alittle diffrent materials ,and the stack of 4 cost me about 150 including light and heat
As for vent have you decided what you will do?
What i did was made a gap all around the door for venting, and seems to work fine

I plan on using 2 2" round vents in each level.

$300 also will include a thermostat.

What did you use to cover the heat mats? I have thought about putting flexwatt down and then covering the whole floor with a piece of vinyl tile. Would the flexwatt hurt the vinyl? Is this a smart thing to do?

    Thanks

In my wooden racks I routed an area deep enough to run flexwatt and then cut and laid vinyl tile over it so it was flush with the rest. I did this so that the sliding bins didn't wear on the flexwatt and it has worked fine for me.

Nice looking.. I would recommend making the doors both slidable, because if one were fixed, it'd be hard to clean that side.. I have a sliding door cage for my boa and it is awesome.

I got a BP, Would it hurt it if I made the cage out of Plywood, like the back, sides, bottom plywood and the front plex-glass
