Awww I'm sorry to hear that aaronyarm. :grouphug:

Did the vet suggest anything special in the way of sterilising the tank to make sure all your other pets will be fine?

Awww so sorry to read of the loss of your snake. I know it's never easy but at least you do know what you are dealing with here, which hopefully will bring some comfort in that you did all you could do for him.

sorry to hear about your loss.

just FYI though...people can catch cryptosporidium as well, so if you start getting sick, take yourself to the doc. you can find it in the water supply if the treatment plant hasnt upgraded their filtration systems. watch what you drink if its not boiled till you know where it came from

again, sorry to hear about your loss :(

thanks again for all the support.

THe vet did mention that it can be contracted my people, but also said that cryptosporidia spores do usually remain species independant.

As far as steralising the tank, I have to throw away all the substrarte, the hides, water dishes etc... and then diinfect it with a bleech mixture, and thouroughly wash itout of course for any new babies.

The vet put me in touch with a local reptile rescue trust. And said he feels comfortable with me rehoming seomthing. Its not going to be until the new yr now, but hopefully Ill be getting something.

    Thanks again
