I've heard two different methods of getting a snake to let go from a bite since I've been on here: Spray with H2O or spray with alcohol. Think I woulda tried that -first-.

Then why does the cop in the story have a different name than the guy that got bit?? and why would there have been paramedics at the scene if the police or paramedics one hadnt been called?

I apologise---I guess it was the double l's in both names that made me think that "Crilly" and "Miller" blended together in my first reading of the story. My bad.

I think they should misted some warm water on the snakes face.... everytime ive had a feeding/bite confusion, warm water was the key.

Im sure the taser worked, and with the size of the snake it "probably"? (no clue, guessing here) wasn't a mortal danger to the snake, but still...

And people will bemoan this as a snake turning on its owner, when it was the owner being careless when feeding.

Rubbing Alcohol Will also make a snake release immediately. Much safer than tasering it. Poor thing.

well to be honest, in a situation like that... if i was given a choice to have it shot or tasered... i'd go for a taser.

most likely they didn't have any knowledge of how to get the snake to release or they would have done it that way.

Bull"crap" won't use the other word but you some of you are full of it. If you're getting constricted by a huge snake you're gonna do what you need to to get free...if you can do it w/o hurting the snake thats good. But if you can't. lol....lets just say my snake would be dead. Ninja edit: even though the snake was only 8 feet long.

Any type of alcohol is suppose to work even the good ole drinking kind.
Anyone who has a snake over 6-7 feet when feeding or handling should have another person present and or some alcohol or such handy in the event of this type of situation.
I know your suppose to pour it right in there face, eyes, mouth.

Hey the taser sure as heck beats what usually would happen in that situation.
