A Snakey Thanksgiving (D/U No no!)

I have to tell a related family snake story. The week before our wedding in October, while Rick was in Vegas, my Dad and step-mom, Mom, and Aunt and Uncle (aunt being my mom's sister) were in town to be with me before the big day. I was SUPER nervous about tentions being high between all of them, but it was for naught as they all got along really well.

Anyway, Rick and I planned out the snakes feeding so that I could feed Cleo and Jenson the night everyone was here. They oowed and awwed watching the beasties eat and while I was super happy to be able to show them Cleo and Jenson, both of whom had shed just the weekend before, Carmen was in full blue. I was disappointed because I really wanted them to see her in all her Suri glory.

Anyway, I said 'heck with it, when are they all gonna be here again, Imma show them Carmen anyway - she can deal with a tiny bit of handling' and took her out....to find she had pee'd in her hide again and stank of snake piss. Bad girl!

So, I gave her a quick bath and spot cleaned her cage - no big deal, right? Well, my family was just amazed and flabbergasted...and it was my Dad and my Mom who were the most active in wanting to help*, which just really touched me.

*Not like there's much to dunking your bad girl boa in warm water to rinse off piss, but hey...

Anywho, it was cool and touching and funny all at the same time, hehe...

My cat and snake sitter said that Carmen then shed on Saturday, our wedding day...what a good girl!

Thanks! Irwin is a little rockstar, though a very sleepy one. He'll sleep through anything and is really startled if you wake him up. If you pick him up while he's sleeping he gives a little jump, evert/musks, then kinds goes "..Oh, wait... well, okay" then he's fine, lol!

What a great story, Cassandra! :love: Isn't it awesome when they surprise you like that? Poor blue-y Carmen! She sure looks like a Ma-tsu-esque flirt when I see her in pics. :D And what timing to get all dressed up in a brand new skin for your Wedding!

I was sad Falkor was in blue, but he shed by the end of the week and they got to see it, so that was cool. :) I was SO relieved noone got peed on, squicking the Mom would be bad, lol.
