It was the way you said this. BPs don't lay litters. They lay eggs. Boas give birth to live litters.
Your wording was a little confusing.
Plus, a BP laying up to 30 eggs is unheard of. Sorry, dude, but it's true. If, indeed, it's a BP that laid 30 eggs, you've got yourself a friggin' gold mine!
Can we see pics of the snake in question?

The best way I know how to decide if a forum is right for me is subterfuge: pleading ignorance. This way I can get a genuine feel for the site's members and how they treat the oblivious ignorant. In addition to scanning messages already posted from other (established) members.
While I agree whole heartedly that the average royal python has a clutch of 2-10 EGGS, they are also well known not to follow typical patterns and can be VERY atypical creatures.
Secondly ... MY female did in fact lay over 20 eggs, all but 3 eggs viable, hatched a month ago. We have contracted with a pet store in Florida to sell them. They are being cared for by an seasoned reptile breeder and his girlfriend.
You have a nice site layout ... a bit confusing at first. However, at this time I believe that I will not be particapting in this forum.

Angel,
Sorry that you felt you had to "trick" the forum to see if it was a good fit for you.
However, from what I read every reply was welcoming and kind to the "ignorant" newbie that you pretended to be.
I'm sorry you feel that it's NOT a good fit for you, but we recognize that no one forum can fit each person's need. I wish you well in finding a community "home" that you will enjoy!

Wow....hummmmm.....ok.
I can't help but wonder exactly what kind of response you DID expect and would have found acceptable in order to consider our forum worthy of your participation.
You sound offended that we assumed you were mistaken in what species you mentioned, and yet you intentionally set out to make it sound that way. Where is the offense??? Folks just very gently suggested that ball pythons don't "have litters"...they "lay clutches"...and the clutches they do lay never have 30 eggs in them. While there may be "atypical" ball pythons out there...and maybe you do have one that lays 20 eggs....that has absolutely nothing to do with the first impression you intentionally gave in your initial post...so why even bring it up? I don't care how "atypical" your ball python is, it's not giving birth to 30 live young.
Whatever it is you're looking for in a forum, I hope you find it. But I have a feeling you only will when you start your own forum, and invite only those you believe are "fit" to belong.

Angel, could i ask why you have to pretend to be "a ignorant newbie" as you put it? To be truthfull with you no forum will really welcome someone that lies about anything to see if you "fit in" or not. This FAMILY here on ball pythons.net is the BEST site in the WORLD! Sorry you feel you dont fit in.

Re: New to forum & herps...quick question
I agree with Robin. I reread all the responses and I didn’t see anything that was out of line. I hardly think that lying is the best way to introduce yourself, in any situation. We have a wonderful community, and I’m sorry you don’t feel that you won’t fit in well.

I go into new forums a bit differently. It works really well for me. I use honesty and articulate questions.
The 'established' members welcome me with open arms as they see I am serious about my critters and with my subsequent posts they see I am open to learning more... and more... and more.
Perhaps if your current strategy isn't working for ya... you can try this on your next forum.
in light,
Aleesha
