True, it doesnt....I personally would never use one, and neither do 90% of the players of the music he likely is into.... but I'm also all about giving my kids what they want, so if he wants a whammy bar, he should have one ;)

it's about the only thing he talks about regarding an electric guitar... so ya, i want it to have one ;)

he has an accoustic guitar already and he's very gifted... he is picking it up so naturally. his guitar teacher doesn't care which one he plays in class and he's welcome to bring whatever he wants to play that day... so that's nice. he adores his teacher!

his teacher is more concerned about assisting his passion... cause without passion, he won't go far.

he has NO idea he's getting this. i've told him he has to play the accoustic for at least a few more years before i'll consider buying him an electric. we went in to see how much they are so we could 'gift' him some money towards his future guitar for christmas... but this was too good a deal to pass up (50% off).

and as adam says, "those smiles are priceless!" (not an exact quote but close enough)

Trust me. He's gonna go nuts for that! :D Haha it's very nice and honestly, some of the Mexican made Fender's are just as good as the American ones I have played. What kind of amp does he have? I can point you in the right direction for a lil practice amp that's just plain amazing and a great value!

It's called a Roland Cube 30. It's AMAZING! Sounds out of this world with Boss effects (Roland owns Boss) and it has received nothing but raved reviews. I have a full stack myself but for a lil practice amp that would be my ultimate choice. You can also plus a lil CD player into it and jam with it as well as you can plug an acoustic guitar into it. We have these 300.00 Martin acoustic elctric guitars at my work and I plugged it into the Roland and the tone was out of this world! Thay sell for 219.00 and it's hands down a killer value.
