My actuall first job, which really didnt pay much, was walking through bean fields and cutting the corn out of them. Never made enough money to do anything with.

But what I would consider my first real job was as a fry cook at the local "Tastee Freeze". Made a whopping $2.15 an hour. Was able to save up and buy my very first car....a 1967 Ford Fairlane.

My first job was at a pet store that sold only parrots and fish. I started that job when I was 15, I think one of the first things I bought was a cd player for my car.

My first job was a waitress...from which I got fired. I think the money from it only bought gas and lunches at school.

My second job was at university, but the money went to pay for school.

My third job was working for my dad for the summer, doing grunt work for his construction company.

My fourth job was working as a clerk at JCPenneys - still really didn't buy anything big.

My fifth job was working at another university (transferred after my 1st year); while I don't remember buying anything big, it "gave" me my love for computers and mapping, which is what I do for a living now.

My sixth and still current after 12 years job is working for a software company; the day I got the phone call I was hired, I bought myself a *real* bed; no more sleeping on what I had been sleeping for 22 years!

I got my first job when I was twelve, answering phones on the weekend where my dad worked (kinda under the counter sorta thing... only paid $25 a week, but that was great money for a twelve year old).

Second was as a receptionist at a hair salon in high school. Used the money to purchase my fave vehicle: my blue Jeep Wrangler. Still miss that thing.

Great post and answers all :gj:

My first job was at a reptile store at age 10. I could not have been happier and my first purchase was an adult ball python. Those where good times, back in the late 80s and early 90s I got to see some really neat imports. I worked there for 6 years until girls and cars came around

My first job was when I just turned 14 working at Aristo drycleaners pin tagging folks clothes to be cleaned and working the counter. I made a whopping 1.60 hr and the first thing I bought was a stereo. That job lasted about 3 mos.

My next job was when I was 15 I worked at the local animal hosp. cleaning the kennels and hosp and walking the dogs, helping the vet hold down the unruly. I use to get to watch him do surgery and he taught me to do X-rays and such. With that I bought my first car a 67 Ford Fairlane GT

Ironhead, we where just to cool for school weren't we ?
