Thanksgiving visitors? Ready to kick them out

This is the first Thanksgiving that I haven't been able to go to my parents. I called and the phone got passed around for an hour while everyone asked me how WA was then I went to the ship to eat dinner with my husband before he had to go back to work then we came home and went to bed.
All the navy had was white meat turkey and I didn't even get any punkin pie :(

This t-day was very off, I'm half afraid to think of how christmas will be. I'm used to running around like crazy to get to both sides of the family.

I use to love everything about the holidays, but being a meat manager in a very busy grocery store tends to alter your outlook on turkeyday.. i'm glad its over.

I like family gatherings, I just hate traveling for them. Rick and I have spent the majority of Thanksgivings and Christmases just together at home - and I really enjoy that. Get up when you want, wear grungey clothes, play video games, make a ton of food that we then eat on for a week, call family on the phone...=)

I completely agree with you! I am 15 hours from my family, and don't get to see them nearly as much as I'd like. I even have a new nephew I haven't gotten to hold yet. :(

I am very thankful my brother and sister in law were able to visit!! :D Even if he is a brother and enjoying driving me nuts. :rolleyes:

I didn't get to spend Thanksgiving with family either, just Karl and I. Now he's at work until 11 pm, and I'm bored to tears. I wish I had family visiting me!

This year thanksgiving included the usual group from my dad's side of the family (his brother, his brother's wife, his brother's son, and his brother's son's son) and it also included some people from my stepmother's side of the family. My stepmother did thanksgiving this year, and she said it was time family met family. :D I would have liked to spend more time with my parents, but I had to be back up here for a doctor's apt this morning.

Kelly's dad had us over. My family lives so far away. Haven't got down there for Thanksgiving in over 10 yrs. Only make it south about once or twice a year. Hearing the noise of her family gathering brought back many happy memories.:D

We went to my sister and brother in law's; my little niece screamed a lot; we drank wine and talked politics with mostly like-minded people (always better than an argument..) Some of my BIL's family was there; my grandparents too.. My divorced parents were both there but didn't bicker or fight; things went well. Although my digestive tract is kickin' it to me right now for all the odd combos of food (chocolate cake AND cauliflower...?)

This is the first time ever we've had Thanksgiving at home, just the 5 of us. No friends, no external family. Kinda weird. More turkey for me!!!

Can I kick the kids out?? They were rather annoying!!!
