Sorry to hear that Robin. 30 years a long time of friendship and pet or person when it comes to that much time it's an obvious family member and loved one. You know everyone here at BP.net sends you our love and comfort over this. There's no easy way to say that it's ok when in fact you lost a major part of your life. But they will always be there in your memories and heart.

Thanks everyone. The truck finally came by and picked him up. Oregon in their "wisdom", you can no longer bury large animals on your property. *%*%&$&&$&$&$&*$*#*#*(

It wouldn't have been MY land, but at least there would have been a "memorial" spot of sorts to always visit and remember him by. Now all I have is the knowledge that he had to be ignonimously(sp) hauled away. :( :tears::tears::tears: THAT shouldn't happen to such a friend, but I didn't have any choice.

Thx for the heartfelt warmth, and hugs, but I have to go and try and get myself together (read: stop the tears and get cleaned up) in order to start my work shift.

Ru, Happy does have the very best memorial that any companion animal will ever have honey...it's in your heart and your loving memories of a life shared...you can visit it anytime, anywhere and no state law has any say in that.

Maybe you could plant a tree or some other plant or garden, to memorialize him? My landlord did this for his mom actually; planted an oak outside of our house, so that, though he can not get to her burial site often, he can easily remember her with this beautiful tree.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Sometimes it's hard for people to imagine how much we can get attatched to our horses. However I'm sure he's waiting for you on the other side of the rainbow bridge.

Awwwwwww Joanna, THANKS!!!!! *sniff, sniff, bawl* (U've given me a chuckle...My nicknames in HS were Roo & Rizz (after my maiden name Rizzuto))

Judy, Entropy....PCACB, THANKS TO ALL!! for the sentiments. Even tho it's been a week, going out there to feed the other four horses make it VERY hard to NOT mourn. I know it will "eventually" not hurt, but this just sucks.

But ever1 HERE has been sooooooo kind. THANKS!
