Mary, do you really think it's wise for Andre to sell off breedable females in order to acquire a male that's going to need females to breed? Especially since the two of you own this business. You're going to have a breeding colony of only nine snakes?

Well, keep all the girls, sell off the normal male - and you've still got just nine, since the spider will replace the normal male! Voila! You get your spider AND get to keep all your girls! Kewl!

Perfect! They'll be ready to for you next year! You're golden! It would take you at least 2 to 3 years to raise up females to replace them!

Yeah I would do that but I dont know if I will have enough money for the spider then. Unless Al lts me pay him in a longer time, then I will also get money for christmas! I will have my mom place an ad for the male tomorrow because that way I think we will have a better chance of selling him, dont you think?

I really want to keep the females. Maybe my mom will lend me some money also. I know I will have enough after christmas but I dont know if Al will hold him that long. I will have to call him tomorrow also.

As long as she's doing the whole deal - money comes in her name, and since she'll be the one certified by FedEx - she'll have to package it up for you and everything!

You could easily get $50 for him!

Since your mom is your partner, why don't you get her to give you a loan for the spider? If you can't afford it, and if it were me, I'd just hold off a year, raise up my girls and save my money for next season, then you'd have more females for him to breed! I don't buy animals if I have to sell off others to do it. Is there a reason you need a spider this year?

No its just that I am getting a good deal on him. I think I will be able to make it. Yeah she will do all the packaging and everything. Would it be okay for people to send money to me through my paypal or should I just add her email to the account? I want to do this the right way now. I know before I was trying to everything my self when dealing with other and I now know that causes problems because I am a minor.

Because you are a minor - everything should be done in your mother's name, including where to send the paypal money. She'll need her own paypal account.

Next year spiders will probably be even less than what they are this year. Price isn't the only thing that you should be considering - this is a business you are trying to start - build credibility into it and choose the very best animal you can get, no matter what the cost, don't just get animals because they are a good deal. Be VERY selective in your collection - you want a reputation for breeding only the best - start with only the very best. At least, that's what I do.

I'm not saying that's not a nice spider, I just mean, if you are in such a hurry to get it because of the deal, that's the wrong motivation.

Like Sean of EBN says - "Examine the SNAKE, not the deal".
