    I'd like to share a prayer that was said every Thanksgiving and Christmas by my grandmother who raised me (she was born in Scotland). It's just a little thing but it always meant family to me and still does, so I'd like to share it with my online family.

    Some hae meat,
    and canna eat,
    and some wad eat
    that want it;
    But we hae meat,
    and we can eat,
    And sae the Lord
    be thankit.

    I Would like to say Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. While we all stuff our faces and spend time with our families lets all take a moment to remember and say a prayer for all those serving proudly over sea's that are not going to be spending the holidays with there loved ones.

    I second that.. what are everyone's plans today? We are going to my sister/brother in law's place, about an hour away, for a shebang dinner that will include my divorced parents.. hopefully my dad doesn't get drunk and start reminiscing (my dad never wanted to split; my mom was tired of his drinking.. my mom has an eye-rolling attitude about him now.) Shoulda seen them at my sister's wedding! Then there's my agoraphobic uncle who we can barely get to come out of his apartment.. who knows if he'll be there..
    Uh, everyone have fun, whether your family is dysfunctional like mine or not!

    Jen just try to grin and say to yourself "we put the FUNK in dysfunctional!".

    Recently I was googling for something (aren't I always) and found this website with a solider's prayer on it. For those of you that have served or have family serving, really for all of us reaping the benefits of freedom from that service, I thought you'd like to read this. I do apologize to our members that are of many faiths as this is not intended to reflect only one faith's belief in a higher being or impose that belief on anyone.
