I want one of those so bad. But I would die. I would be like, "Awww you're too cute, let me just cuddle you..." And then the snake would bite the tar out of me and I'd be dead.

I would love it if there was a humane and safe for the snake way of making those things novenomous, but there is no way I'd keep hots. Beautiful snake though.

I'm completely unfamiliar with the process so I don't really have an opinion on venomiods...but just being objective here I'll pose a question: Does removing their venom glands in any way affect their overall quality of life in captivity? I'm not trying to start a debate; I'm just geniunely curious about the issues on both sides of the arguement.

If you'll notice i didnt say if there was a way, I said if there was a safe and humane way, which rules out the ways of doing it now which have low survival rates and all the problems associated with venomoids and the current processes. I am in no way backing the curent methods being used, and I agree, its not right. That is why i said IF there was a safe and humane way, then i would be interested. I know what i just said probably seems a little harsh, and i want to say that I only put it as blunt and to the point as i did to make it clear i dont support venomoids as they are now, i dont mean it in a rude way toward uro at all. Thank you for bringing up the fact that the current way if doing it is horrible. I somewhat assumed most of us were aware of the issue, so i didnt explain what i said at first as clearly as i should have.

To answer your question elevatethis, i think there is a post in the hot section that discusses venomoids.

none taken parahnaking :) id much rather tell someone that venomoids are bad then have someone question me if they are bad after the surgery is done.:)

elvate- all venomous snakes require venom to aid in the digestion of there food. without this venom they could easily perish from a number of diseases caused by infection of the glands impaction etc... most venomous snakes are thin bodied and do not have the power to constrict even the smallest of mice/rats etc so to answer your question yes it would affect the quality of the life of a venomoid:)
