    I noticed you are in MD. My females came from Harford Reptiles in Md, you may wanna check with them, they were very friendly and offered advise. Ed Clark is in S. Jersey and He is imformative and not too far.

    This book may be helpful to you:

    H. Bernard Bechtel Reptile and Amphibian Variants: Colors, Patterns, and Scales 1995

    See http://www.chicagoherp.org/books/variants.html for a review. The book may be available through your local library system.

    It describes the three chromatophores in reptile skin.

    I would also check out the chromatophore and leucistic pages at Wikipedia.....it looks like both have been updated recently with new info.

    The pdf article in the links of the chromatophore page titled "Nature's Palette-How Animals Produce Color" may prove useful.
