I would rather be bitten by any of my reptiles over an adult rat.....or even a mouse...

One of the worse animal bites I ever received was from a mouse....

I've been nailed... by a full grown breeder.. didn't even drip... it poured! lol And several of my snakes over the years, and a horse, a Neo mastiff, (Saw through my hand:eek: ) and macaws, ... Thinking of the bleeder injuries.... Camine, Sugar Glider, Oh, an Oscar hit me hard enough to draw blood... WHOOT! Did I mention I was a Tom-boy!?!? NOTE... This is over MANY years of messin w/ ANYTHING that I could get my hands on!!! 99.9% theres Nooo problems!

Man my favorite rat a few years ago liked playing with my hoop earrings. Well I tried to get him off my shoulder and he grabbed a hold of my ear and would not let go! Let me tell you the sound of a rats teeth going though the side of your ear is NOT a pretty sound at all! He did pierce my ear and man oh man did my ear bleed!!!

Ouch that sounds painful! I would hate for that to happen. My rats do not get a human hand int he cage anymore unless I have to give them food, water or move one to the snakes cage for feeding.

It was painful for a few minutes then it went numb and a while later after it finally stopped bleeding it started throbbing and later on it was in soooo much pain. I really thought I was going to have to go to the hospital and feel like an idiot trying to explain to the doctor why I was there and how my eat was gushing blood and had holes in it, etc.

Amazed you still had a hand after a Neo Mastiff snacked on it...ouch! I've been bit by a bigger female BP but no way does it compare to the sheer damage a determined adult rat can do. We had to put a female breeder rat down recently for extreme aggression. She slashed both Mike and I so quickly and so deeply we were both just amazed (and in pain and yes cursing up a storm). Their bites tend to get messy too so it's all about a lot of warm running water over the bite and gads of neosporin.
