I don't know. I find such conflicting info that who knows what is right till i find out first hand. When I find out I'll let you know though. I don't have any previous experience to go by because this is my first attempt, so I'm just kinda playing it all by ear. Out of about 10 worms i had in canisters, 2 were dead and one was definitely curled up to pupate. The others were just chillin in there. I think i may have had to much corn meal in there at first, so i took out all but a very tiny amount. I'll keep the updates coming as things progress.

Found another pupae today. I took the water dish out of one of our leo's tanks, and found it burried under the dish. One beetle and 2 pupae at this point. I'll keep you updated as things progress.

I have another beetle now, no idea if they can be visually sexed though (if anyone knows feel free to post it :P) I also have another 2 pupae and about 8 worms curled up like they do right before pupating.

the first beetle died very shortly after placing the other one in the drawer with it, so no babies as of yet. I did FINALLY find either 2 or 3 more beetles morphed in their film canisters, so maybe now the breeding will begin. I also think there are a couple more of the pupae with in a day or two of morphing, because im starting to see eyes and the legs are darkening. I've started dating the lids of the canisters too, so I'll have an idea of how long each stage takes. More updates to come.

they're used in combination with other things for a bullfrog, emporer scorpion, and some leopard geckos. I'll probably start giving them to my mice occasionally once they start reproducing good for me. I also thought it would be a cool project to try just for the heck of it.
