You'd probably end up with really nice pastels and really nice supers if you kept selectively breeding them for good color. :)

Pastels are very variable and you never really know what you will produce when breeding these. I think that you have a better chance of producing great pastels by starting out with the best you can get your hands on. I used to be all about the extreme blushing of the graziani bloodlines and they make insane looking supers. now I have made a 180 and am heading back into the other direction and concentrating on the ones with the lemon colors and the jet black backgrounds.

Aleesha, the super sibling pastel was produced by breeding a graziani X import pastel together. that is a killer snake, but I felt like the yellow colors were more like butterscotch instead. It made me hungry for some butterscotch pudding so I sold all those and bought a bunch of new babies to raise up and this winter will be the first year for them breeding. George Clooney is gonna be the man and these new ones should make the best ever lemon pastels, time will tell?

i purchased a few normal females from a pastel to normal breeding and i think that they look much better than a normal to normal female would. they have much more yellow colouring reduced pattern and a lot of blushing.

very nice if i would say so myself...
