Personally as much as I love our snakes, if I felt something was beyond my skill set with them, I'd be hauling butt to a more experienced person. The snake's best interests are probably being met right now where he is. Part of rescue is rehabbing and working to place the snakes with a loving forever home. It's not about who "gets the prize".
I understand what you are saying here.It just seemed kinda weird since some people from places like the SPCA act like they know everything about all creatures. So when i read she brought it to the person here and wanted it once it was healthy. It just sounded like all she wanted was the prize without the rehabing it needed.

Re: I got a rescue!
Just to let you all know the snake is fine and was released back into the woods.
The SPCA brought him to me because they were honest enough to say they know nothing about snakes. And most of the time they are euthinized. They also said they wish they knew about me before cause it probably would have saved many snakes in the past. I'm not saying I know everything about snakes but am capable of providing minor and immediate care for them. I also have many connections with wildlife rehabbers and vets. So if I do get an injured snake that is in dire need of medical attention I could rely on them.
By the way the SPCA wanted it for there education program. But I told them that it would be best if it were released back into the wild. They agreed.
