Be sure to report it to people, i have talked to three people from FL who are doing studies on invasives (burms in particular), and any info they get on location is alot of help to them. You prob don't have to tell them that you have him, unless you want to, but i think it would be important for their study and controling invasive species if you call somebody to let them know.

    Nice lookin animal though!

    Very nice find!

And while the problem is greatest in the everglades, it's a problem all over florida. I'm an hour north of tampa, and people are always finding pythons, boas, and other non-native species on roads, in their yard, and in parks. Last I heard, the FWC made it legal to remove any non-native species from public roads/property. Only downside, is that they're making it, if they haven't already, a felony to release a non-native species...this is a downside because if you find a wild burm and pick it up, it's yours. No putting an animal back down to be on it's way.

It's great she'll find a home at the Everglades Outpost

If you live near them, their website is asking for volunteers by the way. If my memory is correct I think I've seen them featured on an Animal Planet show (may have been working with that show Animal Cops doing the exotics but not sure).

Manatees! Basically a big sea cow, with a tail. ;) But since it was mentioned, I thought I'd point out there one right by me now (Memphis). We have a Manatee that made it's way up the Mississippi River, and is confounding the local authorities. Kinda cool, but dang that water has got to be cold!! :O

That is cool. I don't have to worry about any non-native pets in AZ. Anything let go would probably dehidrate or burn to death! I rarely see snakes in the wild. You are so lucky IMO!!
