    Well so far he has not even tried or looked like he was going to bite me. He is a little flighty / scared of being handled from what I can see & tell. I hooked him up with some flexwatt, aspen, water, and his stone and tolite paper hide. He is chilling out right now. I'll have to go out and get him another hide this week. For right now that little 5g tank is going to have to do till I get another 10 or 20 gallon.

    I really have to eonder if he really is 2 and a half years old. I mean really can a snake not grow that much over that period of time, or is it just lack of feeding him? If it is lack of feeding him I'd love to know how offten they fed him. The mother said "every Wednesday". PSH! I call BS on that because I feed my guys & girl every Thursday, and well they ALL have grown a good amount. Like I said this guy is about the size & lenght of Jinx my corn snake when he was about 6 months old.

    Well she did do the right thing by giving him up. I guess her mom got tired of feeding him "every Wednesday" and told her that she needed to get rid of him.

    //sigh//

    ALSO....
    Do you guys think he will grow now or if lack of care has really affected his growth and that he will stay small?

    Wonderful job on rescuing that pretty guy/girl. About your question on whether or not he/she will grow anymore after being stunted for so long, in my experience, yes, they will grow more(sometimes alot).

    I rescued a 3 year old female Ball Python(Breth) who weighed around 790-800g when I got her. She was being fed one small mouse every 2-3 weeks and didn't have the proper caging/heating/etc. Now, after about 4 -5 months in my care, she weighs 1405g, is around 3.5ft long, and is a very strong('very' not being quite a strong enough word) eater. Takes down 4-5 mice in a sitting and keeps wanting to eat my face. Other than feeding day, you can do anything you like to her(yes, I've touched her eyecaps, LoL, and she didn't flinch).

    I'd think once you provide the proper environment and the correct sized food, he/she'll be just fine. :)

    Hey all- my first reply-newbe

    I had a similar experience with a red tail last week. I got a call from a friend that said she saw a listing for a free red tail with cage and all but it bites. Well I would have bit her too. When I got to the house, there was 4 sheds in the cage and 6 inches of bedding and all of its duty. The girl that had her got bit after feeding live in the same cage and then stuck her hand in to get the snake to show off to friends. I almost lost my mind on these people but I was more worried about the snake. I felt like crying, skinny, no water....and they were happy to see it go. I'm sure she was happy to go. All I can say is, from someone who has been there GREAT JOB. A few of us snake lovers have to make up for the rest.
