    Don't sweat it ... let the t-stat do it's thing ... once you put a couple of hides in there you'll have a bunch of different micro-climates inside the cage that the snake can choose from ... watch the animal and let him tell you what is working and what isn't ... spending all his time pressed up against the front of the tub on the cool side, it's too hot ... never ever going to the cool side, even at night ... too cool ... thermometers pooey, on the 25th you'll have one of the most accurate thermometers ever created in there. ;)

    I guess you're right, they really are the best way to tell if your husbandry is up to par. I just worry about it getting too hot or to cold. Especially since the feeding responses in my snakes are linked to good steady temps, at least I've noticed this in my guys. As soon as the cold came and temps got a little shakey they went off their constant feedings. It all comes down to my babies thriving, whatever it takes.

    While I have you here whats the ideal humidity? 60%?

    Edit. My room is 70-72 usually, what should I be setting my tstat at...95?
