What exactly are the genetics of a yellow belly?

half will be yb and half norm.
ybs are codom as they are visual heterozygous(the yellow belly) a yb x yb will give you a 25% chance of producing an ivory

Is the yellowbelly the single co-dom or the double co-dom (super) version of the yellow belly gene?

yellowbelly is the heterozygous version of the ivory. ivory is dominant yb is co-dom

    lol, I am still confused..

Are you saying that the super version of the gene is ivory, while the co-dom version of the gene is yellowbelly? So, if you have 2 snakes which are yellowbelly (the ivory gene, and a normal gene), and if you breed them together, and luckily get an offspring with both ivory genes from the parents, then you have an ivory? So the ivory is the "super" form of the yellowbelly?

Or do I have this all wrong, and the co-dom gene of yellowbelly turns into the dominant gene of ivory? So tell me if I have this right, lol, I'm trying to learn genetics. If the BP has one gene of the co-dom gene, and its other gene is normal, it will look a certain way, but if it has both genes of the co-dom gene, then it will look as the "super" form of the co-dom gene..correct?

And for dominant, the homozygous and the heterozygous forms look the same..correct?

    YES!

"the ivory is the "super" form = homozygous form of the yellowbelly gene?"

lets make this easier and start calling the dominant form a super yellow belly(ivory). breeding a super yb to a normal will produce all ybs same thing as a pastel.

Show off! IMOP there are very few YBs that catch my eye. They really really spice up other morphs!!
