    There are actually a LOT of "leuc" words that use the K sound instead of "S". The origin is from the Greek word "Leukos" meaning "white", so I guess the K pronunciation would probably be more correct... especially if it was spelled with a K. :P

    Damn... I really do have too much time on my hands. :(

    I pronounce it "boyd" and don't plan on changing it :). Simply because the acronym uses the first 4 letters of the word, doesn't mean you are required to use it in context...

    Think modem (it's MODULATOR/DEMODULATOR but we pronounce it as MOE) or NASA (We don't pronounce it NESA). Laziness is the American Way (TM) so I will continue to promote that to the best of my ability.

    I've always pronounced it with a "k" too. :oops: But I too am always mispronouncing words. I learn so much from books and the internet and other text sources that I rarely hear things spoken until after I make reference to them outloud to somebody who knows better.

    At first I thought it was "lee-coustic" because I was going off of an abbreviation.

    I pronouce it "lee-oo-sistic."
