SatanicIntention, I just stick with Hikari. ;3 HA, mine love squash too. And peas. Don't really care for the oranges. They like algae wafers and bugs though.

Bambi, thanks for that! Next year in spring I might get another 20 gallon and get a really nice tosakin or something finally.

Your welcome. Rick has some nice fish. They are very knowledgeable and helpful as well. The fish I ordered from them was just stellar!

    Lovin' your pond Aleesha! :)
I might be building one this spring; we have a huge moisture-retaining depression in our side yard that I can't mow anymore because it's so soggy.. I might be hitting you pond people up for some ideas..

Do you all have any problems with racoons or anything feeding off your fish?
I to would love to have another pond, but I'm worried about wild cats and other critters getting into it, I suppose if I made it deep enough so the fish were really low at night nothing could get to them right??

You can buy nets that suspend over the pond so it keeps deer and other critters out. Also keeps leaves out so that's a plus :)

ya but it makes the pond look like crap.

we have ours nice and deep and we've never lost a single fish to blue herons, raccoons or cats. ;)

i think the key is digging it deep... so the fish can have a nice safe place that won't freeze over so they can live in it year round (depending on where you live of course!)

Your pond is stunning! I've never had any issues with predators. Mainly because of the dogs. They don't care about the fish and keep away the animals that do.
