    All i know is never buy one that is under a year old. As mentioned above they are VERY delicate, and can be harmed easily. Buy one that is a year older (or more).

    There are a few threads on this site about gtps that would be helpful :)

    If you've done your research and have some experience keeping you should be ok with the likes of an amazon tree boa. There are ALOT of generalizations and MYTHS about arboreals that people like to spread who don't have alot of experience with them. I am raising a hatchling ATB right now and while yes it is delicate doesn't mean its made of glass and will break. I don't handle it accept to clean. Very good eater all along sometimes even a little to excited at feeding time...a real joy to feed and just observe overall.
