when my husbands boa got out he put a live mouse in one of those small (like 2gl) tanks near some thing warm. the snake smelled it and was at the tank with in a couple of days. i think they would be able to smell live v frozen. good luck.

Go back and check every opening, crack or crevice that you thought would be too small for him to get into or through. They can (and will gladly!) cram themselves into spaces far tighter than we can imagine. I saw a picture once of an escaped BP...a rather large one...who had completely wedged himself up into the little bit of space between the toilet tank and the wall.

Also...the f/t mouse (or rat...whatever his favorite prey is) and blowdryer trick...try setting it in a doorway of a room you want to check...then sit with the blowdryer blowing over the mouse INTO the room you're checking....see if that scent brings him out hunting. Evening hours might be the best time to try this.

i've looked under the fridge. the only thing i can think of of how he got out was he forced himself out of the top of the tank because the lid was just barely open when i went do to take care of him change his water, and clean his enclosure, and he wasnt under his heat lamp or in his hide box. and thats how the great search started ive tore though this house from top to bottom and botttom to top. still no signs of him and since i just woke up i'm posting this and going on the hunt again before i go to work tonite.

good luck with the search... i read somewhere that most BP are found within 15 feet from their cage.. my first bp Skinny, had made an escape and was missing for alittle over a day. Her cage was on top of a dresser the top drawer doesnt close all the way leaving less then a 1/2inch triangular opening. she squirmed down two drawers to the bottom! how she squeezed through such a tight space is a mistory. I searched my whole house fliped my bedroom upside down. then finially my GF found her the next day when she went to get out a shirt. any who i wish you luck finding yours.

This happened to mine about a week ago. (see thread Lost, in the garage). I tried the warm f/t mouse in the garage and also placed a uth wrapped in a blanket under his favorite hide on a shelf w/my shoes. I did periodic checks throughout the night with all the lights out and just used a streamlight flashlight. After about 24hrs, he came out and was working his way toward the uth. Good luck and don't give up hope on him. Keep us posted.

thank you, for all the advice. i got my mouse sitting in a tank where i believe he went into the wall at. i am going to put a human heating pad out on low near the mouse and hope that works its still a shock to me to think that he is missing. still no sign of him yet. :crying::disbelief
