Rex, what does Homer eat? How much does he weigh now? A 400+ lb snake I am sure could put down quite a bit of food.

Well considering I saw her every day for over a year, I can tell you I never saw her eat that much food.. 3-4 chickens or rabbits was normal.

If she was at a good weight, she'd probably only weigh a little more then half that.

I've seen Baby in person. I live about 45 mins away from Serpent Safari. I must say though, she's a very obese python... more so now than in that picture.

Check out this enormous albino granite too (scroll down the page a little):

Post subject: Death of world's largest snake confuses officials

GURNEE, Ill. Lake County officials are investigating the baffling death of "Baby," once called the world's biggest snake.

The 403-pound Burmese python was a headliner at the Serpent Safari reptile zoo in Gurnee about 40 miles north of Chicago.

Authorities say local residents found pieces of the snake in a wooded area last week.

Officials heard conflicting accounts from zoo employees about why the parts were there.

Police say that according to Serpent Safari owner Lou Daddano, the ill snake died last week after a surgery and employees offered to dispose of it.

Kevin Curtis of Lake Villa and Randall Frolich of Libertyville were charged with illegal dumping connected to Baby's death.

In 1999 Baby was listed in the Guiness Book of World Records as the world's largest snake.
