i was reading a book on snakes, and the most common name for pythons is monty, so i'm sure a lot of people have.

to me naming a python monty is like naming an iguina "iggy". so no monty.

as for naming my BP monty...i thought of it for a second but i thought it was too "original" so i went with an egyptian god name instead.

    No Monty's here. :taz:

I do have an Altaïr, though. I always choose Middle-Eastern or African names for my slimy or scaly pets. :)

Nope. But my firstborn son's name is Monty. :D

Actually, as someone already said in reference to their python, his name is Montgomery, but we call him Monty. I'm thinking I do need to get him his own snake, though, so we can refer to it as "Monty's python."

I have never had, nor do I have now, a Monty. The thought never really crossed my mind, since I've seen so many Montys...I've always looked at it like naming an iguana "Iggy," as well, just like a few of the members, here. ;)

My boyfriend and I go for odd names, or names we consider "metal." Well, with the exception of "Kona," our boa. He was named after coffee.

Actually Austin was "Monty" when I first got him and I thought it was such a clever name....(plus I am a huge Monty Python fan) and then I found this website and realized I wasn't so clever and plenty of other people had the same idea so we changed to Austin after Austin Powers...Oh Behave!
