    ....I would take the new job and still help out around the guy's pet store if that is alright with him.

    I really appreciate the words of wisdom/encouragement from everyone here. It will definitely be helpful for me when/if it comes time to make a decision. If I don't get called on the position then it wasn't meant to be. If I happen to get the job then I'll try to give my boss as much time as possible to help train someone for my position, and volunteer when I can.

    Thanks Jeanne, Robin, Cass, RG, Judy, Nate, Daniel!:number1: I'm glad to see there are people who can relate. I guess mainly it's so hard for me because he is a boss I enjoy working for, I enjoy what I do and know that he relies on me for a lot, I've been loyal to him thus far so I'm sure he'd be happy for me no matter what.

    I keep you all updated on what happens.

    Do what you heart desires. Remember if your the only person helping these animals your working with they really depend on you. So tell your boss if you get the "career" that you want you will go for it, so he should probably put an add in the paper saying "hirring" good luck in whatever choice you choose:)
