13 years ago I got my first reptile. A female Leopard Gecko. I thought back then that heat rocks could burn the shat outta my gecko. So, I would bury the heat rock under her sand. When she was about 3 years old, she got a lil sick. I took her into the vet and he was amazed. He said "I've never seen any gecko until now that didnt have a stomach burn" the heat was displaced nicely and never had a problem with it. Only cause it was buried under the sand.
