My wisdom teeth came in while I had my braces. So the DDS just made room for them.

However, In 1982 I was training hand to hand with weapons (U.S. Army) and I got a rifle butt to the face. It cracked one of my wisdom teeth. Unfortunately, we were in the middle of nowhere, so the combat medic gave me some really good painkillers! 11 days later I got back to base and the DDS there pulled what was left -- no anesthetic, the tooth and root were totally dead by then --- I didn't feel a thing.

However, half of my teeth are crowns now...

You poor thing. I had mine out in high school too. Found out I was allergic to codiene as well. That sucked!

It's nice that you can take the time to rest and recoup a bit. I found it was a good excuse to eat that extra bowl of ice cream. :D

Although I can sympathise with the pain that any dental issues cause.

Luckily for me, I have NEVER EVER had wisdom tooth issues, because...well, um... to my dentists surprise after several x-rays... I HAVE NO WISDOM TEETH at all...

Good thing wisdom is not really connected to wisdom teeth, or I would be in such trouble.

Oh wow! Trust me, not having wisdom teeth, you are lucky! For awhile my dentist and orthodontist said I wouldn't have problems with them and they would be fine to come in and would never have to get the removed.

YEAH RIGHT! I looked at my x-rays and there is no room for them and my bottom ones were coming in sideways (coming towards the teeth infront of them).

Glad you are feeling better! I think what we have learned today is that wisdom teeth suck and Nate is about as self sufficient as a newborn baby :)
